Requesting Alternative Testing Arrangements due to a Disability
Accommodations available without pre-approval. Please note that all sites are wheelchair accessible and all examinees will have access to visual enhancement features including color contrast and enlarged font. Additionally, test centers allow a variety of comfort aids; see the complete list at Pearson VUE's Comfort Aid page . These features are available without prior approval.
In addition, all examinees are permitted to take breaks to use the restroom, take medication, use an inhaler, etc., without prior approval. Any time taken for these breaks is considered part of the examinee's available testing time.
Accommodations requiring pre-approval. The following alternative testing arrangements may be requested because of a disability (e.g., visual impairment, hearing impairment, motor disability, illness, injury) and can be accommodated at all test sites:
- Allowance of a medical device in the testing room
- Use of a trackball mouse
To request any of the alternative testing arrangements listed above, you must
- complete your test registration; and
- submit a completed Alternative Testing Arrangements Request Form indicating the nature of and reason for the request.
If you require arrangements other than those listed above, you must
- complete your test registration; and
- submit a completed Alternative Testing Arrangements Request Form identifying the disability and the specific arrangements requested; and
- submit one of the following:
- appropriate documentation, as described in "Required Documentation"
OR, if applicable
- an Institutional Verification of Documentation, printed on official institution letterhead (see "Institutional Verification of Documentation" for information)
