For example:

- demonstrating knowledge of issues related to natural resource use and consumption (e.g., environmental trends and issues, conservation, sustainability)
- demonstrating knowledge of consumer rights, responsibilities, and protections
- analyzing the influence of public policy and ethics on personal, family, and consumer decisions

Demonstrate knowledge of consumer skills related to housing, apparel, and textiles.
For example:
- demonstrating knowledge of how to identify and meet personal and family needs and wants for shelter and clothing
- demonstrating knowledge of factors involved in consumer housing decisions in relation to personal or family needs and available resources
- identifying appropriate strategies for applying consumer skills to finding, selecting, and maintaining suitable housing
- demonstrating knowledge of the impact of historical, environmental, technological, cultural, and socioeconomic influences on living environments, textiles, and interior design
- demonstrating knowledge of the role of aesthetics and design in textiles, apparel, and interiors (e.g., color schemes, design elements and principles, merchandising, production and construction of textiles)
