• demonstrating knowledge of the fundamental elements of technical design and production of dance performances (e.g., stage areas, rehearsal processes, costumes, scenery, lighting and sound equipment)
• recognizing and interpreting ways in which various components of a dance performance and production (e.g., props, costumes, multimedia, accompaniment, lighting, context) contribute to artistic expression and communicate meaning
• understanding how audiences, venues, and other factors influence creative choices and elements of choreography, performance, and production
• demonstrating familiarity with the use of various technologies in the documentation, performance, and production of dance

• demonstrating knowledge of technical and aesthetic vocabulary and concepts used to describe, analyze, interpret, and evaluate choreography and performance technique in a variety of dance genres and styles
• recognizing and interpreting ways in which dance movement and choreographic choices can create and communicate meaning (e.g., movement qualities, intentions of choreographic design, expression of emotions and ideas, artistic expression)
• applying and responding to feedback, self-reflection, and the analysis of artistic intent in evaluating and revising dance technique, performance, and choreography
• recognizing and analyzing ways in which personal and environmental contexts influence the interpretation and evaluation of dance movement and choreography
